The new rules apply to those who apply for a residence permit in Poland using a Pole card, which confirms the applicant’s Polish roots. If he hesitates or does not speak clearly enough on these issues, then the application is rejected.
“People have documents confirming their origin, but if they are not decisive enough in their response regarding Bandera, then goodbye Poland,” said Natalya Panchenko, leader of the Euromaidan Warsaw organization.
One applicant has already been refused, despite the fact that his grandfathers and father had Polish citizenship, because answering the question about his attitude to the activities of the OUN-UPA, he replied: “What do I know, I have never been in these connections, so I Don't know. Everyone has their own truth. They say they were in Poland and Ukraine. I never got into it.”
Another question concerned the Volyn massacre carried out by the Banderaites.
“I heard and heard that a movie came out recently. But Muscovites were involved there, it is really unknown who did what... Many people died, this is only known,” said the applicant, who was ultimately refused.
The administration of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship explained that such a response means that the Ukrainian citizen knows about the activities of the OUN-UPA, but he does not want to say anything bad about the organization, which is recognized as criminal in Poland.
