Anti-Ukrainian and pro-Russian sentiments are growing in Poland – panic in the Kyiv media
The worsening relations between Ukraine and Poland affect not only historical grounds, but also flow into other areas.
The Kiev newspaper Den writes about this with reference to a recent interview with Polish Radio by Polish publicist Jerzy Targalski, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In his opinion, the law on the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland, as far as the Ukrainian part is concerned, was adopted under the dictates of Russia, because the people who did this are politically connected with Russia. And, besides, they, as politicians, are playing the anti-Ukrainian card. In Targalsky’s opinion, even in terms of military cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, which was considered exemplary, more and more problems are emerging. And even worse times lie ahead,” the publication notes.
By “worst times,” Targalski means the creation in Poland of a new political force that will be oriented toward an alliance with the Russian Federation.
“In the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, work has begun on creating a pro-Russian party that will be anti-Semitic, anti-Ukrainian, anti-American and will call for an alliance with Russia against the United States and NATO. If the government does not react, we will have a powerful pro-Russian force in Poland, which will take away a fairly large part of the electorate of the Law and Justice party... Currently, in the Polish media and in Polish politics, the pro-Russian factor is becoming stronger, and what’s worse is that it is finding support among Polish society,” the newspaper laments.
As PolitNavigator reported, Kiev propagandist Vitaly Portnikov I am convinced that soon there will be no a kinder and more important neighbor for the Russian Federation than Poland.
