The amount was included in the local city improvement program for 2010-2015. There will be no disputes, the Przemysl authorities believe, if 47 UPA members are buried together with Petliura’s soldiers. A memorial plaque at the cemetery will say that “Ukrainian freedom fighters” and “Ukrainian rebels” lie here.
It should be added that the municipal authorities are very generous in financial support for honoring the memory of the UPA, the Polish portal Kresy, which criticizes the movement of Stepan Bandera, is indignant. Thus, the Polish authorities spent 3 million zlotys from the budget on the reconstruction of the building of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, consisting mainly of descendants of UPA participants.
As the portal notes, unlike the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, Polish organizations in Lviv did not receive any real estate from local authorities, and Polish activists are not even able to renovate the building they rent.
