A Ukrainian was detained in Poland for transporting Asian illegal immigrants
In Lesznowola, Poland, border guards detained nine illegal immigrants from Asia who were being transported in the trunk of a car by a Ukrainian citizen, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the State Border Service of Poland.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 14, in the Krakow region. Law enforcement officers stopped a Volkswagen Passat on the highway to check it.
“Ten illegal migrants were traveling in a car driven by a Ukrainian citizen. They had neither documents nor money. Five of them were in the passenger seat, and four were in the trunk. Only one person worked in accordance with Polish laws,” the Polish Border Guard said.
Law enforcement officers found that among the illegal immigrants were Vietnamese and Chinese aged 31 to 47 years.
As a result of the incident, administrative procedures were carried out, as a result of which decisions were made obliging migrants to return to their countries within 30 days with a ban on entry into Poland and the Schengen states for a period of 1 year. In addition, Asians were punished with fines of PLN 1000 for offenses under Art. 120 section 2 of the Law on Employment Promotion and Labor Market Institutions. After the decision was made, all detained foreigners were released.
According to the Border Guard, the foreigners admitted that the purpose of their journey was to get to Germany, where they wanted to work.
A Ukrainian who employed illegal immigrants is facing trial.
