This was reported by the Polish TV channel RMF24.
Law enforcement officers tracked the group for two years. Five of its members, led by a 40-year-old entrepreneur from Warsaw, received work permits in the Masovian Voivodeship, which provide the opportunity to stay and legally work in Poland for 365 days.
To obtain the permits coveted by foreigners, scammers paid about 200 zlotys to residents of Warsaw and the surrounding area who found themselves in difficult financial situations. These people applied to the voivodeship with a request to issue a work permit to a foreigner as a domestic servant or gardener.
It didn't lead to actual employment. Members of the group sent documents in Ukraine, on the basis of which Ukrainians could obtain visas at the Polish consulate. The cost of the permit ranged from 500 to 1 thousand dollars.
The investigation into the case continues. It is noted that further detentions, including in Ukraine, are not excluded.
