“Today there was an emergency in the city. The mayor of Poltava, Alexander Mamai, together with his first deputy Vyacheslav Stetsenko and another unknown person, beat up a journalist from the newspaper “Iskra ordinary people” and my assistant Lyudmila Voloshina. At the same time, she fulfilled her professional duties,” Kaplin said.
The deputy said that the journalist tried to get city leaders to comment on the accident they caused. In response, Lyudmila Voloshina received beatings. Passers-by saved her from serious injuries.
“I am outraged by this situation and have already appealed to the leadership of the regional Department of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov with a demand to immediately arrest the mayor of Poltava Alexander Mamai. First he robs the city, then attacks journalists. I hope that at least this incident will help remove this person from the post of mayor,” said Sergei Kaplin, as quoted by the Poltava publication.
Let us recall that earlier Kaplin stated that Vyacheslav Stetsenko provoked the accident, after which information about the subsequent beating of women began to be actively disseminated on websites.
