Poltava announced quarantine due to rabies
The regional state laboratory of veterinary medicine in the Poltava region diagnosed rabies in a dog that died. Quarantine measures are currently being carried out in the city.

This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Poltava region, Gennady Pikul.
“Today there was a meeting of the emergency anti-epizootic commission, which approved the action plan. However, quarantine measures are already being carried out, restrictions have already been introduced. The laboratory center is informed, and the person who had contact with the sick animal receives assistance. Veterinary specialists are going around the Lesok microdistrict, where the disease was discovered, and vaccinating the existing population of cats and dogs,” the official noted.
According to him, in the household where rabies was confirmed in the animal, disinfection was carried out, and the booth in which the dog lived was burned.
