“There is a statement to the police - it was entered into the register at the Zhovtnevy District Department of Internal Affairs. An investigation has begun,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Poltava region reported.
Pro-Ukrainian activists washed off the paint. In their opinion, the inscription “Rus” left on the pedestal proves that there are “pro-Russian forces” in the city.
Let us remember that on February 21, protesters demolished the monument to Lenin on the central street of the same name in Poltava. After the appropriate examination, they wanted to melt the bronze sculpture into church bells or sell it for scrap metal. In April, on the site of the demolished monument, pro-Ukrainian activists erected a temporary monument in honor of those killed on the Maidan.
