Crimean Transport Minister Anatoly Tsurkin reported this on his Facebook page.

“The new hundred-meter berth will allow large ferries to moor along the entire length of the pier - an 80-meter vessel gains greater stability due to mooring along the entire plane. This will improve safety and even make it possible for another small ferry to moor, if necessary,” noted Anatoly Tsurkin in a commentary "Kryminform".

The minister clarified that previously large ferries in the water area operated on thrusters. The new berth is floating, that is, it is anchored and not installed on cast-in-place piles.

The Ministry of Transport of Crimea plans to commission another similar pier in the southern part of the water area of the Kerch crossing by April; its construction has already begun.
