This was reported by the local publication Zhitomir Magazine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“New swings, slides and a sandbox were installed on the alley of the city’s Central Square. The playground is a gift from volunteers from the United States, who came to teach Ukrainian children English and at the same time get to know our country,” the publication says.
“I really like it here because this country is very different from the United States,” said volunteer Courtney Tubz in an interview with journalists from the local TV channel Korosten TV.
“When I first heard about the trip organized by the Eurasia Mission, I decided to explore what Ukraine is like. I saw that this is a country that has experienced many tragedies in its history, it has survived Nazism, the Soviet Union, and Chernobyl. Your city is very beautiful, I really like it,” said another American, Nancy Williams.
