The day before, the US Ambassador to BiH, openly gay Eric Nelson, said that Washington was concerned about the behavior of some politicians in BiH due to “destabilization of the Dayton Peace Agreement and corruption,” meaning primarily the Bosnian Serbs and their leader Milorad Dodik, who advocate the peaceful division of the country.

The American threatened that freethinkers would already face new US sanctions, and this, however, is nothing new, considering that Dodik has been under personal American sanctions for several years now.

In turn, on the N1 TV channel, the US State Department Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer, said that the United States does not support “Greater Serbia”, “Greater Croatia” or “Greater Albania”.

“We support Great BiH,” Palmer said, adding that he does not take seriously what was published in the press the other day "unofficial document" on redrawing the borders of the Western Balkans, because to this day it is unknown who is the author of this document.

As for Russia, it is “very clear” to Palmer that “it is also working to undermine stability throughout the Western Balkans in order to promote mistrust and conflict.”

“We have read the statements of the US State Department Special Representative for the Western Balkans Palmer and the US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Nelson. According to Palmer, and obviously he is not the only one who holds this opinion, Russia is to blame for all the troubles in BiH. We can comment on such conclusions only with the expression of Sergei Lavrov: “It’s good that we are still not accused of the murder of Franz Ferdinand,” the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina responded to the attacks of the Americans.

Russian diplomats especially drew attention to Palmer’s words that the United States supports the creation of a “great Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

“We also noticed a reservation in the speech, although in the context of the Balkans reservations are often overlooked. When they start talking about something “great,” then, as a rule, we are talking about revising boundaries. A clear example is the attempts to create a “Greater Albania”... Well, talk about sanctions is reminiscent of the famous American proverb: “You can achieve more with a beautiful word and weapons than just a beautiful word,” the statement says.
