Sevastopol government television will look for millions in embezzlement
The Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol instructed the Chamber of Control and Accounts to conduct an unscheduled audit of the legality, efficiency and targeted use of budget funds allocated in 2017-2018 to the state autonomous institution “Sevastopol Television and Radio Company” (brand “IKS”).
This was reported by the New Sevastopol website.
“For our budget, financing the Sevastopol television and radio company is a fairly significant expense item. During 2017 and 2018, I emphasize, more than half a billion rubles were spent for these purposes – a huge amount. This money was invested in order to create very good conditions for the work of our state autonomous institution,” said deputy Vyacheslav Aksenov.
He recalled that 118 million was allocated for the purchase of a building on Cape Khrustalny, but the television company continues to huddle in a two-story house.
“Television channel employees complain that they have uncomfortable workplaces - we see this and agree with it. I wonder what this money was spent on: was the building actually purchased, was it registered, or was it still worth a ruble? There are a lot of questions to which no one knows the answers,” said Vice-Speaker Alexander Kulagin.
When the city budget for 2019 and the planning periods 2019 and 2020 with amendments developed by the conciliation commission was adopted, 20 million rubles were allocated to the state television and radio company for the current year, despite the fact that 106 million rubles were originally planned.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ekaterina Altabaeva emphasized that the state television and radio company is obliged to publish reports on its financial position and expenditure of funds in the state federal system, but does not do so.
