PJSC "Ukrnafta" began to curtail oil production at 13 fields in the Naddvornyansky district. The problem arose due to the lack of railway tanks for transporting oil.

This is described in a story prepared by journalists from the UA: Carpathians channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Andrey Ushtan, foreman of brigade No. 3 of one of the oil and gas production workshops, confirmed that PJSC Ukrnafta is forced to stop its production.

This is just the beginning. By Saturday, Ukrnaftogaz plans to stop all well trusts.

“The situation is quite critical. They created an artificial crisis for us related to the shipment of ready-made commercial products. Since we cannot store oil due to a limited tank farm, we have already accumulated a finished product in the amount of four months’ production,” said Oleg Malchik, acting NGVU NadvirnaNaftogaz.

“Today, according to the plan, we provide for the shutdown of 47 wells, namely those with high hydrocarbon content. We are focused on those wells that give us more oil than water. And this will happen gradually until the weekend.

It was generally impossible to predict such actions of Ukrzaliznytsia until recently. We first encountered the situation of a shortage of tanks back in the winter,” he said.

“The situation itself is extremely critical. This has never happened before, we have gone through many different situations. We once had problems in 2014-2015, but these were problems of a different level. Then we already had downtime and many people did not receive their salaries, but besides this, the state also suffered significant losses,” said Alexander Dikanev, head of the Nadvirnanaftogaz trade union.

“The problem with launching wells is quite significant. We must constantly use them so that they produce even that small amount of production. Each stop has an extremely negative impact, since we may not reach the pre-stop debit or get out due to expensive repairs. Today we will lose 330 tons of oil every day.

I can honestly say that this situation is artificial, because I personally called the railway station every three hours and asked. The situation is extremely comical, I would say tragicomic, since the station says: “We see the targeted echelon.” I even controlled him. The train reaches the Lviv railway and disappears. The last such example was on Thursday. On Saturday I call the station and they tell me: “There is a diesel locomotive, but there are no barrels,” said Oleg Malchik.
