Serious shortcomings were discovered in the Kerch Bridge project
The designers of the transport crossing across the Kerch Strait did not include electrification in the railway bridge project, which in the future will slow down the process of passengers arriving in Crimea.
Chairman of the Society for the Protection of Passengers' Rights Kirill Yankov stated this at a press conference in Moscow.

“This year we were able to get acquainted with the project of direct railway communication to Crimea after this bridge is completed. What is alarming is that they envisaged electrification from the Krasnodar Territory only to the Taman station, and then a diesel locomotive should be attached to the train instead of an electric locomotive, and the diesel locomotive would have to drive the train along the Kerch Bridge to Dzhankoy, and then again by electric locomotive to Dzhankoy. Such a crooked, oblique scheme, which was already criticized at the commission by Deputy Prime Minister Dvorkovich, let’s hope that our designers will move away from this and make a normal electrified line,” Yankov said.
