In a propaganda frenzy, Tymchuk put the UPA on a par with the Irish Republican Army in terms of efficiency
Ukraine, having adopted the law on the glorification of the OUN-UPA, did the right thing, but it was necessary to first carry out explanatory work with the Poles.

Dmitry Tymchuk, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and coordinator of the Information Resistance group, said this at a round table in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are no objections to the letter of the law. But the fact that we have not assessed the consequences of the implementation of this law, including relations with Poland, is a fact. I can't say that we acted completely wrong. This is part of our history. This is not just my opinion - the world believes that the UPA is one of the most effective rebel movements in human history, along with the Irish Republican Army. This is, in any sense, part of our history, and we can only be proud of the UPA,” summed up the Ukrainian propagandist.
It is difficult to say which IRA Tymchuk is referring to, since since the Irish War of Independence of 1919-1921, several structures under such names have existed and still exist. It is even more unclear on what basis the assertion is based that the UPA is one of the most effective rebel movements in the world. As a full-fledged combat structure, the UPA lasted no more than two years and was destroyed by the Soviet state security agencies at the end of the war. Subsequently, the actions of the combat groups, which continued to call themselves UPA, were scattered in nature, and in the 1950s they completely disappeared.
As PolitNavigator reported, the “Kiev Patriarchate” is unrecognized in the Orthodox world. canonizes UPA militants as saints.
