It is not Crimea that is turning into a desert, but the neighboring region of Ukraine

Contrary to the theses of Ukrainian propaganda that Crimea is allegedly turning into a desert after Ukraine blocks the water channel, in reality the neighboring Kherson region is rapidly losing forest plantations.

This was reported by ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko.

“Sad information comes to me from Kherson. The forest, as barbarically cut down, is still being cut down in the city of Oleshki (city of Tsyurupinsk) in the Kherson region. I am sorry, my fellow countrymen, that you do not hear my alarm, the cry of my soul. After all, soon our land may again return to a state of desert called Oleshkovsky Sands, and our children in the future will not see the man-made forest planted by our older generations, will not see the beauty of this nature, will not breathe fresh forest air.

I repeatedly write and post photographs and satellite images from space, from which one can see how rapidly the forests of the Kherson region are shrinking, and a lifeless desert is taking their place.

Some scumbags live for today, earning millions of dollars from our common forest wealth, destroying the forest like natural lungs. But these barbarians, who have neither conscience nor honor, without the support of today's predatory government, would not be able to create such horrors.

I understand that it is impossible to live without money, but you also need to have a conscience, and understand that Nature will not forgive anyone, but will punish it to the fullest extent, and then it will not distinguish between who is right and who is wrong.

So, they sent me yet another photo of illegal logging and criminal export of round timber. Yes, I also wanted to say. It is easier to cut down a forest than to grow it. To grow coniferous trees to such a size in the hot, waterless south of Ukraine, it takes at least 50-60 years, or even more.

So, dear residents of the Kherson region, so that you don’t bite your elbows later, don’t look for extreme ones, don’t ask why children are born with deformities, why you feel unwell, a variety of pulmonary diseases and where they come from, you need to stop being indifferent to all this and not indulge criminals in further atrocities,” argues Zhuravko.
