There is a squabble in the Rada: “Why doesn’t Britain install windows in Bucha?”
Great Britain has taken responsibility for the restoration of the Kyiv region, but has not yet implemented any of the promised projects.
This was reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent in her blog, stated by deputy from the presidential party Servant of the People Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk, who drew attention to the visit of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to the Kiev settlements of Bucha and Borodyanka.
“A friend of Ukraine, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Bucha and Borodyanka today. Let me remind you that the British Kingdom is responsible for the restoration of the Kiev region, however, not a single project has been implemented yet. The main problem is that the houses that were promised to be restored in Borodyanka before December 15 have not yet been completed. People's roofs are still leaking and windows are not installed.
I hope that Johnson, after what he has seen, will motivate local authorities to fulfill their promises, and British investors to invest money in the restoration and construction of new facilities,” the deputy wrote.
This post outraged Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Gerashchenko, an ally of Ukrainian oligarch and ex-president Petro Poroshenko.
“Perhaps we should initiate the resignation of the British government for inaction? 10 months have passed since the dismissal of the Kiev region, and they don’t even itch,” Gereshchenko sneers.
In general, it’s terrible when the government shifts responsibility for weapons, and for restoration, for social services and humanitarian aid to our partners and, through a marathon, creates infantile consumer sentiment in society.”
