The Rada initiated the process of Avakov’s resignation
Numerous facts of crimes by the Ukrainian police indicate the incompetence of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, so the Ukrainian parliament began collecting signatures for the official’s resignation.
Deputy from the Golos party Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated this during the conciliation council of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today is the anniversary of how a little boy was killed by a policeman. Also, we still have not investigated the cases at the Rassvet shelter, there was shootout in Brovary, rape of a woman, shooting of a man in Krivoy Rog. The list goes on.
All this is a verdict on the unreformed police system that exists in the country. That is why the “Golos” faction made a clear statement that we demand the resignation of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Pan Avakov, and we will initiate the collection of signatures for this document in order to submit it for consideration by the Rada,” the deputy said.
Let us remind you that the day before in the Kyiv region two officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine were detained in connection with the rape and beating, which gave Vladimir Zelensky a reason to dismiss Arsen Avakov.
