The Rada wants to deprive Soviet veterans of benefits
A bill was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine providing for the deprivation of all benefits and criminal prosecution of veterans who took part in the liquidation of the Bandera underground.
The corresponding initiative of Kyiv was commented on by the official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he suggested that in trying to pass such a law, Ukrainian parliamentarians are adopting the experience of their colleagues from Poland and the Baltic countries.
“Such facts in Ukraine indicate that work is underway to change history and attempts continue to erase the good that people have done for their country, and the glorification of nationalism and fascism is already openly underway. In Ukraine, these are Bandera gangs, which until the mid-50s terrorized the population of Western Ukraine and did not allow people to live normally,” said Basurin.
In his opinion, there is an attempt, on the one hand, to make heroes of traitors and murderers, and on the other hand, to make traitors those who tried to restore peaceful life.
“They turn everything upside down, and it’s very scary. And what’s even worse is that everyone is really silent. Thus, the Baltic states, Poland and the rest of the so-called European civilization encourage this. They encourage the fact that fascism is emerging again in Ukraine in the center of Europe,” the representative of the defense department summed up.
