The Rada decided to try Crimean and Sevastopol deputies
Simferopol, January 27 (PolitNavigator, Evgeny Andreev) – People’s Deputy from the “People’s Front” faction Anton Gerashchenko registered a draft resolution of the Verkhovna Rada “On the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on bringing to justice the deputies of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Sevastopol City Council,” transmits Interfax-Ukraine.

The draft resolution proposes to initiate procedural measures against deputies of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Sevastopol City Council, who voted for the resolution to hold a Crimean referendum.
“In connection with the daring annexation of Crimea by Russia and in connection with the relevant resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Sevastopol City Council on holding a so-called all-Crimean referendum, it is extremely necessary for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office to make quick and effective decisions aimed at protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our Motherland,” says the explanatory note to the document.
According to Gerashchenko, such a practical tool is to bring to criminal liability local government officials involved in encroaching on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The draft resolution notes that the practical implementation of this resolution will facilitate the prosecution and confiscation of property on the territory of Ukraine of local government officials who contributed to the “annexation” of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol by a “foreign state.”
