“Yesterday we had consultations between the heads of factions and President of Ukraine Zelensky. About five times I asked the President of Ukraine on what basis he plans to sign a decree dissolving parliament. I heard only one answer that he believes that the coalition has not existed for two years. I once again re-read the powers of the President of Ukraine, which are written in the Constitution. I did not find among its powers the power to establish or assert the existence of a coalition... We are in the constitutional process of forming a coalition.

I believe that the decree on the dissolution of parliament contradicts the current Constitution. Therefore, from this moment on, I will act exclusively within the framework of legislative powers. In my deep conviction, the presidential decree is not only disrespect for the Constitution, but also leading the country into a constitutional crisis. I understand that the presidential decree, I, as the head of the Verkhovna Rada, cannot stop, only the court can. I know that people’s deputies are planning to file an appeal to the Constitutional Court, and I support this initiative of people’s deputies of Ukraine,” the speaker said.

He was also supported by the head of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko, comparing Zelensky with ex-President Yanukovych.

“What is happening in Ukraine today is a demonstration in front of the whole world and the people that the president, who two days ago swore allegiance to the Constitution, is trampling on it. The president's unconstitutional decisions have led to a constitutional crisis in a warring country that threatens the well-being of every Ukrainian family. President Zelensky acts like Yanukovych, when in 2010, having won the elections, he changed the Constitution through corrupt judges of the Constitutional Court.

President Zelensky and his team today, using their temporary rating, are practically trying to seize and usurp power in the country. Since the destruction of the Constitution, Zelensky has been a usurper. Paralyzed by his rating, law enforcement agencies are inactive and show complete indifference,” Lyashko said.
