The official immediately made it clear that official Kyiv does not intend to make concessions to the demands of the protesters in the South-East. Yatsenyuk said that among the country's citizens there is a prevailing opinion “that Ukraine is a single unitary power.”
Federalization is “absolutely alien to the traditions of state building in Ukraine,” said UDAR representative, deputy Valery Karpuntsov.
The moderator of the meeting, Alexander Turchynov, also mentioned Russia’s aggression and assured that Ukraine will continue its course towards integration with the West.
“Undisguised harsh and cynical aggression against our country. The goal is to destroy Ukraine. Completely destabilize the situation, prevent the country from being built and developed along the European path.
Despite all these attempts, we continue to move for change for the better, to move towards a common European home,” Turchynov assured.
