The Rada accused Ukrainian football players of collaboration
Verkhovna Rada deputy and ex-head of the Right Sector information department Borislav Bereza was outraged by a photo that appeared online in which the record holder of the Ukrainian football team for the number of matches played, Anatoly Tymoshchuk, is walking in St. Petersburg with a St. George’s ribbon.

“Honorary citizen of Lutsk, ex-captain of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Timoshchuk “showed up” with the Colorado ribbon in St. Petersburg. I see that the ex-player is ready to do anything for money today, and running across the field with the flag of Ukraine is, perhaps, a thing of the past for which he is ashamed. And nothing surprising. One [Yaroslav Rakitsky] doesn’t sing the anthem, the other with a ribbon struts around St. Petersburg. They are from such a team. Collaborationism is their position. Very unpleasant. “Very,” the deputy laments.
In the photograph, Tymoshchuk lays flowers at the “Mother Motherland” monument at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery along with the players of Zenit St. Petersburg, where he works as an assistant to the head coach of Lucescu.
