In a general statement of the inter-factional association, the so-called young deputies announced a boycott of any bill signed by Lyashko.
“Last week, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleg Valerievich Lyashko allowed himself to offend our former colleague, now Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, in an unacceptable, humiliating manner. He associated her position on the moratorium on round timber with the following epithets: “a decoy,” “an oligarch’s henchman,” “a government downer.” This is not the first manifestation of hate speech in public politics and sexism... We will not support bills where you are a co-author, or where the co-authors are members of the Radical Party, until you apologize,” the Euro-Optimists said in a statement.
In response, Lyashko tried to pour out his portion of accusations on his opponents, but his speech was drowned out by shouts of “ban” and stomping in the session hall.
“I want you to hear what young politicians accuse us of. They want the country to be plundered, the timber taken out, the land sold, the retirement age raised. And those who are against this policy, they say that we are this and that...” Lyashko shouted.
Thank you!
