The Rada declared Ukraine the poorest country in Europe
The New Year will not bring any improvements to the residents of Ukraine - politicians will forget about their promises, and extortions will only increase.
Deputy Alexander Dolzhenkov stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to say that 2019 will be not so much a political season as a year of political populism and promises from various factions and groups that were once part of the European Ukraine coalition that they will make the lives of Ukrainian citizens better. Unfortunately, the existence of this coalition and this government leads to diametrically opposed results and consequences. According to the World Bank, Ukraine has become the poorest country in Europe. Nobody talks about this here. They talk about the army, about the language, about religion. But not a single faction talks about the economy,” said the politician.
He also suggested that the current Ukrainian government will not fulfill any of the promises made to the people.
“What won’t the government do? It will not make fundamental changes in tax policy. We will not see, like our ears, a tax on withdrawn capital. There will be no changes to income tax. We will not see any tax breaks or tax amnesty.
This year we will not see the creation of a funded pension system - here is the pension reform, which was carried out in order to increase the retirement age to 65 years and increase the pensions of five million pensioners by only 300 hryvnia, and this with an excessive level of inflation, with a fall in purchasing power abilities and despite the fact that the level of Ukraine’s economy has not reached the level of 2014,” the deputy added.
In his opinion, the Kiev elite will continue the economic convulsion of the country and the plunder of the people.
“What awaits us this year? We are expecting an increase of up to 80% in prices for natural gas, which will lead to an increase in tariffs for heating, warm and cold water. If in 2014 the electricity tariff was 33 kopecks, now it is 1 hryvnia 70 kopecks. If the gas tariff was 930 hryvnia per 1000 cubic meters, it is now 8500 hryvnia - this is a tenfold increase! The authorities have already signed a memorandum that from January 01.01.2020, 12000, the price of gas will increase to 12 hryvnia, which is more than XNUMX times!” Dolzhenkov concluded.
