Panic in the Rada: Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are freezing in their apartments
Residents of Ukrainian cities are forced to sit in the cold without heat and gas, while the management of Naftogaz, with the connivance of the Ukrainian government, withdraws millions in bonuses abroad.
The leader of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko said this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, addressing Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The city of Pavlograd - 108 thousand inhabitants without heat and gas, the city of Severodonetsk - 106 thousand inhabitants without heat and gas, the city of Smela - 68 thousand inhabitants without heat and gas, the city of Kropyvnytskyi (Kirovograd - Ed.) – 226 thousand residents without heat and gas, the city of Krivoy Rog – 634 thousand residents without heat and gas, the city of Shepetivka – 42 thousand residents without heat and gas.
There were frosts today, and there were frosts last night too. These hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian residents are hostages of the predatory policies of Naftogaz and your government. This is called pure terrorism, when you keep residential buildings, people in apartments, hospitals, schools and kindergartens without heat and gas in frosty weather, because Naftogaz demands from them a 50% prepayment for gas and repayment of debt for previously used gas. Where in the local budgets can we get the money to give you a 50% advance payment?” the deputy asked.
At the same time, he said that the debt of these cities is less than the size of the bonuses that the Naftogaz management wrote out for itself.
“They paid themselves 45 million bonuses and have already transferred them, one to my mother in America, the other to my wife in Liechtenstein, and millions of Ukrainian citizens must sit without gas and heat, their children must be sick, people in hospitals sleep under three blankets in order to be paid million bonuses and salaries. I demand from you, as the Prime Minister, to immediately give the command to turn on gas throughout Ukraine to the residents of these cities and all other settlements without gas, and to stop this gas terrorism against Ukrainian citizens.
Cancel all decisions on awarding space bonuses, return these illegally received bonuses back to the budget. Why should Ukrainians pay exorbitant salaries and bonuses out of their own pockets, pay unfair prices for gas and sit in their apartments without heat?” Lyashko said.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv experts they fear that Ukrainians will use potbelly stoves for heating in winter, and chairs and stools will be cut into firewood
