The Rada supported the creation of a Ukrainian register of pedophiles
The parliamentary committee decided to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada generally support bill No. 6607, which provides for the introduction of a Unified Register of persons convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual integrity of children, and increased responsibility for such crimes, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
As the press service reported, the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Sergei Knyazev took part in the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support for Law Enforcement Activities to consider this bill today, July 3.
The draft law was considered based on the results of an electronic petition to protect children from sexual violence, which received the required number of votes.
The head of the National Police noted that bill No. 6607 (draft Law of Ukraine “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine (regarding the implementation of the Unified Register of persons convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual integrity of a minor or minor and strengthening of responsibility for crimes committed against sexual freedom and sexual integrity immunity of a minor or minor)”) is a cornerstone piece of legislation for law enforcement.
“Taking into account all democratic principles, the National Police fully supports bill No. 6607. I ask you to support this bill, because this is a very big pressing problem,” Sergei Knyazev addressed the legislators.
During the meeting, the Committee on Legislative Support for Law Enforcement Activities decided to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada support bill No. 6607 as a whole.
