The Rada demanded that Zelensky reward the Nazi
In order to adequately support the course towards total Ukrainization, it is necessary to urgently award the title of Hero of Ukraine to the first leader of the right-wing radical Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Yevgeny Konovalets, and the Nazi from the SS Galicia division, Mikhail Mulyk.
A deputy group made such an appeal to the Ukrainian president during a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Two weeks ago, the Ukrainian parliament supported my appeal to the President of Ukraine regarding the recognition of Yevgeny Konovalets as a hero of Ukraine. Konovalets is a very serious figure who was at the forefront of the struggle for Ukrainian statehood in 1917-1921. This man actually created and headed the Ukrainian military organization, which was a magnet for nationalist and patriotic forces.
This is a man who was killed by the Soviet Empire in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 1938. This man became a symbol of the struggle and gave impetus to the resistance of Ukrainians during the Second World War,” said Volyn representative of the parliamentary group “Party “For the Future” Igor Guz.
“I want to urge Vladimir Zelensky to hear the thoughts of many, in fact hundreds of civil organizations and the majority of parliamentarians from different factions, and make this important decision. It can be accepted for Heroes’ Day in May (May 23 – ed.) and the title of Hero of Ukraine given to Yevgeny Konovalets,” Guz added.
Next, Oksana Savchuk, a deputy from the nationalist Svoboda party, took the floor.
“We recently also submitted a request for division officer Mikhail Mulyk, and here we are also waiting for the president to award him the title of Hero of Ukraine. With these actions, the president will once again prove that in Ukraine they know how to honor and recognize their heroes, such as Yevgeny Konovalets, like Stepan Bandera, and the Ukrainization that has begun can be worthily noted using specific examples. Therefore, we expect those patriotic actions from the president and hope that on Hero’s Day Yevgeny Konovalets will have the honorary title of Hero of Ukraine,” Bandera called.
The same call was made by another representative of the deputy group, representative of the “Voice” party Yaroslav Yurchyshyn.
“As a representative of the national scouting organization Plast, I have been working for a long time to educate children using examples such as Evgeniy Konovalets.
At a time when Russia is very actively trying to rewrite history, you know that they are even changing the name Kievan Rus to Ancient Rus in order to level out the enormous historical heritage of our country. At a time when all sorts of “Basts” and other Russian narratives are trying to fill our information and cultural space, it is very important for us to show our heroes, people who were able to rise above political movements. Who would be able to sacrifice the most precious thing - their life, so that Ukraine, for which we are now fighting, in particular in the war in the East, takes place and develops.
Therefore, there is only one call: Mr. Vladimir, Mr. President, it’s time to establish real heroes – Yevgeny Konovalets as the hero of Ukraine,” said Yurchyshyn.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier deputies of the Lviv Regional Council appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports with a demand to name the local stadium after one of the leaders of the OUN, Hitler’s accomplice Stepan Bandera.
