About this Kyiv online newspaper "The country" said one of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, answering the question of whether Russia’s policy will change after the publication of the “Kremlin list” by the US Treasury Department.
“Let’s be honest - our political regime also rests on Putin’s intransigence on Donbass. Imagine what would happen if he said today: for the sake of lifting sanctions, we are abandoning Donbass. The entire position of the Ukrainian government for 4 years has been geared towards the fight against Russia. And a reversal would immediately provoke colossal problems - the lack of funds to restore the infrastructure of Donbass, and a lack of understanding of the problems of people in these regions, and lawsuits, and the appearance of several million voters who would vote against Poroshenko in the elections. So let Russia continue to overcome these sanctions as best it can,” the deputy said.
