The Rada threatened a second Maidan for beating Nazis at the gay pride parade
The Ukrainian national police will face reprisals for beating young radicals who allegedly took part in a peaceful rally against the gay pride parade in Kyiv.
People's deputies Andriy Ilyenko and Oksana Korchinskaya announced this at a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What happened on Sunday in Kyiv is an unprecedented phenomenon. I personally, as a resident of Kiev, do not remember such a level of arbitrariness since the times of Yanukovych. All metro stations are blocked, the entire center of Kyiv is blocked. Absolutely unmotivated brutal beating of people simply for their civic position in defense of traditional values. There was not a single forceful provocation on their part; it was absolutely unmotivated police brutality. And for this there should be punishment for those people who gave criminal orders,” said Andrei Ilyenko, a representative of the VO “Svoboda”.
In turn, deputy from the “Radical Party” Oksana Korchinskaya appealed to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and personally to the head of the Kiev patrol police department, Yuriy Zozula, accusing him of repression against youth, and threatening people’s revenge, citing as an example the reprisal against the police after the Maidan.
According to her, the participants of the action, representing Christian youth of different denominations, were only in the park, but in the end they were beaten by the police and ended up in the hospital.
“I am now turning to Minister Avakov, to the head of the National Police Knyazev and to the person who, according to our information, took responsibility for this beating - Mr. Zozula. I have a request for him that from today he officially wears the sign of homosexuals and sexual minorities - a rainbow. So that we understand why he treated the citizens of Ukraine this way, first of all, the idealistic Christian youth that we have now.
By what right did he allow himself to defend perverts who looked shameful? And this phenomenon occurs during the war? The majority of Christians, patriots and volunteers in our country cannot help but condemn this phenomenon. Why were healthy, idealistic, Christian youth so greeted by the National Police?” Korichnskaya was indignant.
According to her, this is how the Maidan began.
Afterwards, a shaven-headed representative of the “Christian youth”, who had suffered at the hands of the Kyiv police, took the floor and said that the police began to brutally beat them for no reason.
“Good afternoon, my name is Ruslan, I am a member of the Carpathian Sich organization. I came to a peaceful protest against the gay pride parade. There was nothing criminal on our part, we did not hide our faces and stood calmly, without committing any provocations. We went out into the street, stood at the crossing, and at about six o’clock in the morning they simply surrounded us and started beating us. They started knocking me down, beating me with batons, and using tear gas. I didn't see anything and didn't know where I was at all. When I lost my sneaker, they knocked me down, and I heard from the side how the employees were given the order to hit the leg that was not wearing the sneaker,” said the young man.
