Citizens of Ukraine cannot pay for housing and communal services, since gas tariffs are artificially high.

Deputy Viktor Galasyuk stated this at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and chairmen of Verkhovna Rada committees, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The debt for housing and communal services has reached 60 billion hryvnia. This is just a crazy amount. Tariffs are artificially high, people cannot pay them. There must be a comprehensive solution to this problem. The first is an adjusted gas price taking into account the real cost instead of the so-called import parity formula imposed by the IMF. Ukrainian gas is significantly cheaper than imported gas, so it is unfair and unreasonable to artificially equate its price to imported gas, because wages in Ukraine are 5-6 times less than in neighboring countries,” the deputy said.
