The Rada calls for saving Ukraine from destruction due to the isolation of Donbass

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Correspondent” by the head of the “Self-Help” faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Oleg Berezyuk.
“Today we do not have the strength to liberate these territories of ours. You need to admit your weaknesses and be realistic. Since we will not be able to liberate these territories, we must isolate the war in a political way. No elections in Donbass, as they will lead to the destruction of the state. A special status for Donbass is also impossible,” says the Ukrainian politician.
For anyone who holds a different point of view, he suggests reading the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Adenauer, who, after the end of the war, refused to unite with East Germany.
“It’s the same in Donbass – political and economic isolation is necessary. After all, what we are doing now is helping not those people who live there, but those who are killing our people. It is also necessary to develop the army and create a powerful security belt along the demarcation line. This will reduce the death toll and deter the Russian aggressor. This isolation is also necessary so that Ukraine has the opportunity to get on its feet and develop economically. And the people who tell us about the great humanistic mission in the east to resolve the conflict are the people who are pushing Ukraine into the eternal flames of war and its destruction,” Berezyuk concludes.
