The Rada declared victory over Poland
Within the walls of the Ukrainian parliament they recalled the victory of Ukrainians over the Poles in the distant past.
The corresponding statement in the hall of the Verkhovna Rada was made by People's Deputy of Ukraine, former commander of the Dnepr-1 battalion Yuriy Bereza, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In May, we celebrated the 370th anniversary of the victory under the leadership of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, united with the Tatar army under the leadership of Tugan Bay, where the Ukrainians and Tatars showed a tremendous example of valor and not just valor. This was the first victory of the Ukrainian united army over the regular army of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth,” noted Bereza.
He also stated that the victories of the past should inspire the Ukrainian nation.
“It’s moments like these that give us inspiration. We are usually used to crying and talking about those moments where we were beaten. I will say that the nation, the Ukrainian nation, has the right to victories,” the people’s deputy emphasized.
