On September 1, many Ukrainian schoolchildren were left without textbooks, and a number of Ukrainian schools do not even have a canteen.
Deputy Natalya Korolevskaya stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, budget funds allocated for the restoration of schools in Donbass were simply stolen, and children do not have normal conditions for studying.
“This has never happened before, that on September 1, our children went to school without textbooks, that in many schools there were no desks, and in a few days parents looked for desks, washed, painted and put them back in schools. We have never seen anything like this before, when some schools underwent very expensive renovations and are shown to the whole country, while other schools are closed.
Today, in schools in the “red zone”, where billions of hryvnia were allocated for the restoration of Donbass, all repair work was carried out at the expense of charitable organizations. And in many schools there is no roof over their heads, no canteen, no place for children to study, no school bus. And this cynicism of the situation when billions of hryvnia were allocated for reform, when they promised that every new Ukrainian school would be repaired today, but we saw that everything was the opposite,” said the deputy.
Let us recall that earlier “PolitNavigator” quoted the words of Edinburgh Business School teacher Ivan Kompan, who said in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “NV” that Ukrainian schoolchildren do not receive proper knowledge at school and cannot explain basic things.
