The Rada is shocked: the EU and the Russian Federation have concluded a new Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact
The Ukrainian GTS is a “gas transport shield” that protects Ukraine from Russian military aggression, therefore the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline should be considered a threat to both Ukraine and the whole of Europe.
The leader of the Samopomich faction, Oleg Berezyuk, spoke about this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada conciliation council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today Ukraine is not in a full-scale war only because we have a Ukrainian gas transportation system. As soon as it finally disappears due to the appearance of Nord Stream 2, Ukraine will cease to be of interest to Europe. And it will be captured. Because today it is a gas transportation shield, not only economic, but also military. Therefore, we can consider that Nord Stream 2 is a new Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in Europe. It threatens not only Ukraine, but also the stability of the European continent,” the deputy said.
“We must appeal to all European parliaments to consider this very difficult situation of Europe’s dependence on Russia, so that they consider this in their parliaments,” Berezyuk urged.
