The Rada grabbed their heads: “The Russians are ahead of us with the Crimean Platform”
The “Crimean Platform” planned for the end of August is intended to advocate for Ukraine abroad and give an adequate idea of the Ukrainian view on the issue of Crimea, but the Russians carried out a similar initiative back in 2017.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Solomiya Bobrovskaya stated this during a video conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is very important to take at least small advocacy or propaganda steps for our Ukraine abroad to build a coalition or at least an adequate idea of the country, but in this regard we still have to grow and grow. One of the successful political campaigns of the Russian Federation, which are well-known, the so-called “Crimean platform” that Ukraine is talking about today, is the so-called “Crimean agency” created in 2017,” the deputy said.
She noted that this agency is non-governmental, but with the support of the Russian government.
“They gathered about 30 countries there, which entered at the level of local self-government, sometimes also national politicians, which was headed, in particular, by economic adviser Nicolas Sarkozy and included the first or second prime minister of Slovakia. And since 2017, they have created for themselves such a lobbying history as the “Crimean agency”, which was supposed to lobby support for the occupation of Crimea, attempts to annex Crimea by the Russian Federation, to which we are now responding in this way.
But the question is that time has already passed, something is unfinished. And this way you can go through a lot of issues,” Bobrovskaya said.
