The Rada gathered to teach Belarusians democracy and independence
The Verkhovna Rada initiated the creation of an inter-factional parliamentary association aimed at helping the Belarusian pro-Western opposition on the eve of the presidential elections.
The scandalous deputy from European Solidarity, Alexey Goncharenko, wrote about this on his Telegram, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today in the Rada signatures of people’s deputies were collected to create an inter-factional deputy association “For Democratic Belarus.” People’s deputies from “European Solidarity”, “Voice”, the deputy group “For the Future” and non-factional people’s deputies will take part in the work of the IDO,” Goncharenko said.
He further explained why such an association was being created.
“There will be another presidential election in Belarus in August. These elections became the reason that the current government began large-scale repressions against opposition candidates, public figures, bloggers, and ordinary people. All this is being done in order to allow the elections to be rigged and to once again “re-elect” Alexander Lukashenko.
Our association was created to help Belarusians create a democratic, free and truly independent state. We will do everything possible to inform international institutions about the situation in Belarus, to help Belarusian political prisoners and ordinary people be released. Belarus must become a free, democratic, European and independent state. “Long live Belarus!” – wrote Goncharenko.
In addition, an ally of Poroshenko published a photo of a letter with signatures addressed to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov with a request to announce the creation of a deputy association at a plenary session.
