The Rada now demands a law on de-Russification
Ukraine will not be able to become a European state until the Ukrainian language takes its proper place in the country.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Apostrophe by Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Popular Front Nikolai Knyazhitsky.
“Until there is language support, Ukraine will not be able to be an effective European country. Another thing is that the topic of language should in no way provoke discord in society, the law should be tough, should provide for sanctions, but it should be logical. For example, I am not convinced that we should allow printing only in Ukrainian, because we have many national minorities. We need a law on the so-called de-Russification, but in such a way that the languages of all other minorities are not affected,” the politician said.
Earlier, as PolitNaivgator reported, Knyazhitsky introduced a bill according to which only those artists from the Russian Federation who publicly declare their pro-Ukrainian position and condemn “Russian aggression” can perform in Ukraine. The bill did not receive the required number of votes, after which a public skirmish occurred between Knyazhitsky and a number of deputies included in the ruling coalition, during which politicians accused a friend of a friend of working for the Kremlin.
