The Rada demands to urgently build a “Wall” in the swamps near Belarus
Swampy and forested terrain, which is considered a reliable natural barrier, is in fact the best way to cross the virtually non-existent border between Belarus and Ukraine.
Deputy Solomiya Bobrovskaya stated this at a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the Rivne region there is the village of Gorodishche, it is actually located on the border with the Republic of Belarus. What will we do when swamps and forests do not protect our border?
But I often hear an argument from my colleagues - don’t worry, landscape obstacles will not allow migrants, who today are actually a human shield, and Belarus and Moscow are engaged in state terrorism, can come here in a stream or become an instrument in this hybrid war with the EU, and therefore perhaps with us too.
All attention today is focused not only on the northern border, but also on what is happening on the eastern border with the concentration of troops with the state of Ukraine.
But the question is different. Besides the fact that Belarus is asking to put Iskanders on the western border, which are already stationed in Kaliningrad and Crimea, the question is: what are we doing?
...I would like to emphasize once again for those who are far from the Polesie regions that swamps and forests are, in fact, the best way to cross a virtually non-existent border,” Bobrovskaya said.
He admitted that the “Wall” project on the border with Russia was a failure, however, he called for a repeat attempt at its construction on the border with Belarus.
“We ask the government to report to parliament not only how we will build the border, it should have been built yesterday, starting with engineering work, it is not so difficult, in order to make a seven-point demarcation of the cordon like the huge “Wall” project, which was failed, on the border with the Kharkov region,” the deputy called.
