The Rada was horrified: In Ukraine, the regional center dies out every year
The Ministry of Health is pursuing a destructive policy regarding the human potential of Ukraine.
This was stated by the head of the parliamentary committee on health issues, Maidan activist Olga Bogomolets, at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last year we lost 200 thousand people. This is one regional center, such as Ternopil or Ivano-Frankivsk. What is the government doing to preserve human potential? Hospital treatment for oncology was financed at 27% of the need, for patients with cardiovascular diseases - at 30%. 70 thousand doctors left the country to look for an opportunity to survive, because the government policy regarding salaries is not only completely inadequate, it is destructive. Today we are hostages of the absolutely destructive policy of the Ministry of Health,” said the deputy.
According to her, last year six billion hryvnia were allocated for the purchase of medicines, but in the end nothing was purchased.
“This means that people are dying without timely help,” Bogomolets said.
She also noted that her committee had prepared more than 20 bills on the social protection of health workers and health care policies, and approached the prime minister with a proposal to create an interdepartmental commission on the preservation of human potential, but never received a response.
