The Rada was horrified by Ukrainian utility bills
Due to the huge difference in salaries, tariffs for housing and communal services hit the pockets of Ukrainians much more heavily than residents of the EU, where tariffs are higher.
Deputy Konstantin Pavlov stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, Ukrainians have the lowest salaries in Europe, and tariffs are painfully expensive. Compare the average cost of tariffs in Germany - $243, in Austria - $188, in Britain - $186, in Denmark - $184, in Croatia - $182, in Poland - $170, in France - $157, and in Ukraine - $101.
Now compare the average salary at least in the capitals. In Kyiv – $263, in Warsaw – $1551, in Berlin – $2508, in Paris – $2520, in London – $2886. That is, in Europe, with high incomes, 5 to 6% of wages are spent on tariffs. And in Ukraine, which, according to the World Bank, is 50 years behind Poland in terms of development, and 100 years behind Germany, people spend 22% of their wages on housing and communal services,” the deputy was indignant.
Let us remind you that the day before President Vladimir Zelensky declared it an “urgent task” to reach agreements with the IMF, which previously issued loans to Ukraine in exchange for obligations to increase tariffs, reduce social benefits, and sell off black soil.
