“The night in this sector passed quietly, but the night before the militants fired small arms at our positions near Shchastya. Uncontrolled armed formations tried to storm the control tower at the Donetsk airport and entered into combat contact with our units in the Novolasp area,” it said in a message from the ATO headquarters.
Let us remind you that earlier information appeared about blocking of Ukrainian checkpoints by militias and Cossacks, in particular, near the village of Smeloe.
Ukrainian security officials also claim that pro-Russian rebels fired twice from the BM-21 Grad MLRS in the area of Nikolaevka and Debaltseve, and mortar explosions were heard repeatedly.
“According to operational information, sniper groups of militants are operating in this area. Shelling of our positions in the south of the ATO zone, in particular in the area of Pavlopol and Zamozhny, has resumed. Ukrainian units are taking measures to neutralize the militants’ firing points,” Ukrainian security officials said.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the militias said that Ukrainian troops are massing units towards Donetsk.
