As the press service of the Donetsk Railway stated, today a group of unidentified persons seized the electrical centralization post at the Slavyansk station, as a result of which the switches are not switched and the signals (traffic lights) do not work. The voltage in the contact network from the Lozovaya station to the Yasinovataya station has also been turned off.
This was the reason for changing the route of trains No. 19 and No. 133 on the Lugansk-Kyiv route. Train No. 77 on the Mariupol-Moscow route with the help of a shunting diesel locomotive will continue to run along the changed route. Suburban electric trains, which are located on the Lozovaya-Yasinovataya section, will move with the help of shunting diesel locomotives.
As a result of the lack of voltage in the contact network on the Lozovaya-Yasinovataya section, the movement of passenger, commuter and freight trains will not be carried out.
Earlier, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said on his Facebook page that the authorities would block the railway connection.
“Railway traffic in the military operation zone will be closed in the next hour. Traffic on roads in the Slavyansk area is limited to a minimum. I ask everyone to refrain from traveling during the special operation,” he wrote.
As Navigator reported, at 4:30 Ukrainian security forces began active operations near Slavyansk. They occupied a height - Mount Karachun, where the Moscow-Mariupol train was stopped. At the moment, there is information about the wounded and dead among both the Ukrainian military and the militia.
