“In Ramstein Ukraine they sweetened the pill and went their separate ways” - Karasev
The whole concept of supplying Kyiv with tanks from Western countries has become entangled in NATO formulas.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev spoke about this on his video blog, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is an offensive weapon [tanks], this is a new round of war, one thing is defensive, the other is offensive. Therefore, you see, they, the Germans, sweetened the pill. They provide Ukraine with some anti-aircraft guns, not the newest, MANPADS, where the Americans give good Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, new shells and anti-missile systems, but these are defensive (except for the Bradley).
But everything the Germans gave for a billion dollars was defensive. And what is Scholz’s understanding of the war formula? Unlike the Poles, the British are Baltic. He says we must defeat Russian aggression in Ukraine. Not Russia, but aggression,” the expert said.
“Secondly, the formula that guided NATO countries and the entire Western alliance regarding the war until this stage was to not let Russia win, not to let Ukraine win. Not allowing you to lose means not creating the opportunity for complete victory, therefore a defensive weapon.
What is the resulting formula? The West, its imperative, is not to let Russia win, and taking into account the possible offensive of Ukraine, Russia’s task is not to let Ukraine win. It’s in this railway dead end that the “leopard train” of the Ramstein coalition is stuck, and we need to get out somehow, maybe we’ll say something more sharply,” Karasev complained.
