The Russian Academy of Sciences calls on the leadership of the Russian Federation to finally show up for the economic war with the West
In the conditions of the economic war with the West, Russia stubbornly does not resort to adequate responses, which could at least be the arrest of Western assets.
Oleg Sukharev, a leading researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said this on radio “KP,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In addition to the hot war, we are seeing an economic war, and it began before the hot war. And our measures, here I am more competent than in military affairs, are inadequate to the economic threats and economic actions of the West against us.
Firstly, we did not prevent the theft of our assets, and secondly, we look like such a bumbler in relation to these assets, we have been rhetorically discussing what to do about it for 11 months. And, roughly speaking, they haven’t really done anything serious yet,” he noted.
“Actually, according to the logic of things, if we have lost 300 billion, it is necessary not to whine that maybe there will be a return, or maybe there won’t be, but what the West will do, but to seize Western property for an equal amount. Or, at least, arrest with the same freeze, and so that this asset works for us. This is a logical action that is suggested, and, again, a response, we always respond, we do not go ahead of events, we trail,” said Sukharev.
