The corresponding decision was made on Wednesday at a session of the State Council.
The amendments were adopted at the request of the prosecutor of the Republic of Crimea. According to the changes, procedures for standardization and classification of accommodation facilities have become voluntary rather than mandatory. In addition, the law was removed from the law that prohibited enterprises that did not have Crimean registration from carrying out standardization. But, at the same time, they were required to undergo accreditation with the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the republic.
“We accepted the prosecutor’s protest, which concerns two main issues that were in the resort sector - the issues of beaches and the issues of classification. We are bringing the Law “On Tourist Activities in the Republic of Crimea” into line with federal legislation, and the classification of accommodation facilities is voluntary and carried out in accordance with the federal legislation of the Russian Federation,” said the head of the profile committee of the State Council, Alexey Chernyak.
