According to the PolitNavigator correspondent, wreaths were laid at the memorial to the dead children in Istochno Sarajevo by the Serbian member and rotation chairman of the Presidium of BiH Milorad Dodik, members of the families of the dead children, the mayor of East Sarajevo Ljubisa Cosic, the director of the primary school “St. Sava” Daniela Mrda, the director of the Republican Center for the Study of War, War Crimes and the Search for Missing Persons Milorad Kojic.

Milorad Dodik said that 121 innocent lives was a huge tragedy and expressed regret that many people who shot children did not receive justice.

“It is very important that we have gathered here on this day to draw everyone’s attention to the fact that 121 children died, and this should never be forgotten,” said the Bosnian Serb leader. “On this day, the pain that grips us does not subside, but it is with us on other days.”

In turn, Milorad Kojic noted that recently from the Federation (Bosniak-Croat) BiH there have been statements from certain political structures and circles, which say that political issues can only be resolved through war.

“Four thousand killed Serb civilians and soldiers defending Serbian Sarajevo and centuries-old predominantly Serbian territory imposes an obligation to preserve the memory and pass on the memory of this and similar dates to our new generations,” Cosic said. “These days will mark the 25th anniversary of the Serbian exodus from Sarajevo, the largest exodus of a nation on European soil since World War II, which cannot be forgotten or downplayed.”

The list of the War Crimes Investigation Center, which, unfortunately, is not yet final, currently includes 121 names of murdered children of the Serbian Sarajevo, and 475 Serb children killed throughout the Republika Srpska. To date, not a single court verdict or indictment has been issued against the killers of the young Sarajevo Serbs.
