As a result of Ukrainian shelling, a civilian resident of Donbass was wounded
Ukraine launched a mortar strike on residential areas on the outskirts of Gorlovka, and the Donbass defenders responded by suppressing the enemy’s firing point.
This was reported by the press service of the DPR NM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a result of the explosion of a Ukrainian mine, a civilian born in 1969, who was at that time in the courtyard of her own house, was injured,” the report says.
The victim was provided with the necessary assistance by promptly arriving doctors. She was taken to city hospital No. 2 in Gorlovka.
Also, as a result of the shelling, a residential building at ul. Nevelskogo, 97 and a car parked there.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, issued an emergency statement:
“The Ukrainian side continues to persistently bring the conflict into a hot phase. Just yesterday, the VFU fired more than 50 mines of various calibers in the Donetsk and Mariupol directions.
Guided by my order, as well as in accordance with Measures to strengthen the ceasefire, after an unsuccessful attempt to activate the coordination mechanism with the participation of the JCCC in the current composition, the People's Militia of the DPR returned fire in order to protect the population of the Republic and prevent further shelling from Ukraine.
There has already been a warning that the Ukrainian side will not get away with such provocations: the Donetsk People's Republic will take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of its residents.
Once again I draw your attention: escalation is not beneficial, first of all, to the UFU. We have repeatedly proven the defense capability of the Republic, as eloquently evidenced by the thousands of losses of the army personnel of the armed formations of Ukraine.
In the event of shelling by the UFU, the People's Militia of the DPR has the right to use all opportunities to protect our citizens provided by the Measures to Strengthen the Truce. The Ukrainian side is fully responsible for every killed DPR serviceman and every wounded civilian and will continue to be responsible in the future.”
