The Russian Federation wants a migration amnesty for LDPR militias
The decree of the President of the Russian Federation on simplifying the procedure for obtaining citizenship for residents of Donbass will not solve the problems of people living in the region - a clearly thought-out multi-stage state program is needed.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the head of the War and Peace Coordination and Legal Center Andrei Sedlov.
He admitted that many LDPR militias who fought for the republics, but were not registered on their territory, are not subject to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation.
“Putin’s decree on issuing Russian passports to Donetsk residents, I believe, will not solve the problems of the residents of these regions. While for other Russians they will even increase, many locals, having received citizenship, will try to move to Russian territory in order to somehow arrange their lives here, because it is difficult to do there,” Sedlov believes.
He also said that he returned from Donetsk, which is literally choking with queues of those who urgently apply for Russian documents.
“Is there a way out of this situation? There must be a clearly thought-out multi-stage government program, and not just a single presidential order. Including, I believe, a migration amnesty is also needed for those citizens of the DPR and LPR, participants in the military conflict, who already live in Russia and are hiding here from the Federal Migration Service or are waiting for forced deportation - and there are several dozen of them. We defend everyone’s rights in court,” the human rights activist noted.
“There are a lot of wounded who are brought in for free treatment and rehabilitation, and then they are discharged, but they also do not return to their homes - they hang between heaven and earth. They must receive at least some official status and have the opportunity to legalize themselves,” Sedlov is convinced.
