Riga got scared of the letter Z and changed the name of the tallest skyscrapers in Latvia
In Latvia, the tallest skyscrapers, which were called Z-Towers, changed their name to Zunda Towers after the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine. As you know, the letter Z is used by the Russian military to designate their equipment. This was reported by the Baltic news agency Delfi-Bizness.
“There are 26 letters in the Latin alphabet, and with the letter Z in the name we wanted to emphasize the location of the project near the Sounds Canal. It’s unfortunate that a well-known project that has existed in Riga for more than 10 years can be associated with a symbol of military propaganda,” said commercial director of Towers Construction Management Aigars Gerhards.
The Zunda Towers complex has two round towers with different foundation areas, each 30 floors high. The number of apartments in both towers is 341.
